04 Jul CATUAV explores the effects of a hailstorm over Artés vineyards

During June 28th, CATUAV carried out a reconnaissance mission of the vineyard damage produced by an intense hailstorm that affected Artés on Saturday, May 24th 2008. The grapevine hail damage will imply the vintage total loss for some wine producers. The damage extension was monitored with the Near infrared imaging system developed by CATUAV. A field survey and interviews with the farmers of the most affected areas assessed the reliability of the vegetation index (NDVI) used to characterise the damage. CATUAV technology farming applications are widely fulfilling expectation.
