Remote sensing is the acquisition of information about an object or phenomenon without making physical contact with them. In our case we obtain this information from our onboard sensors. Combining the information of our different sensors we can obtain certain object properties such as color, size, temperature, spectral emittance behavior, etc, which will allow us to categorize and identify the object or phenomenon.
CATUAV has the required capabilities and experience for integrating remote sensing specific sensors in our UAV systems. We perform application specific radiometric calibration of those sensors and developing software for automation of the remote sensor process.
These techniques have special interest in precision agriculture, where they can be used, for example, to know the state of each plant. It also can be very useful in forestry management or environmental studies, in order to identify species or extract information from the big extensions of terrain.
